Wame Mosime has been appointed as the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition (ITPC) Director of Global Programs and Advocacy. This role oversees and leads all of ITPC’s programs; including our two main campaigns Make Medicines Affordable and Be Healthy – Know Your Viral Load.
Wame comes with a wide range of experience in health related programming from Africa, Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. She has managed and implemented health-programs at regional/multi-country and national level, and worked across different sectors & industries. Her wide range of expertise includes resource mobilization, policy development, advocacy, community dialogue, as well as community & health systems strengthening, and costing analysis. Wame has led HIV projects funded by USAID / PEPFAR, DFID and EU. She brings to the table a passion for implementing programs focused on scaling up health interventions, developing innovative practices to engage to the participation of non-conventional partners in the HIV-response, and promoting increased access of health services amongst populations / communities most in need of services. Since December 2015, Wame has been working for ITPC as a consultant, supporting the implementation of several programs and initiatives. She will be based in Botswana, alongside two other members of the global team.

About ITPC:
ITPC is a global coalition of HIV treatment activists formed in 2003 to respond to the needs of communities worldwide. Structured in eight regions, the global network is driven by individual activists, peer support groups, grassroots networks, community-based organizations, and non-governmental organizations. Each of these entities share our values and vision and comes together to address issues around access to treatment issues in their countries, regions and at the global level. The Coalition includes organizations and networks run by key populations – lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people (LGBTI), sex workers and people who use drugs – as well as others marginalized within the current HIV response, such as women, girls and migrants. As a Coalition rooted in the South, ITPC established its global office in Botswana in March 2016.
