Communities Delegation at the Global Fund announces new members

Three representatives from the EECA region were elected to the Community Delegation of the Board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria: Denis Godlevskiy, Regional Coordinator of ITPC EECA,  Valeriia Rachynska, Director of the Communities Development Department of the Charitable Organization “100%LIFE” and Lyubov Vorontsova, representative of the Eurasian Women’s Network on AIDS and member of the Steering Committee of the International Community of Women Living with HIV.

The delegation is made up of a group of up to forty people from around the world, living with HIV, and affected by tuberculosis and malaria, who are actively engaged in issues related to the Global Fund’s work.

The Communities Delegation welcomed six new members in total – Priscilla Ama Addo (President of Young Health Advocates Ghana), Lulu Ayoub Nyenzi (National Coordinator of the Community-led initiative for Women and a key population-led network), Ida Savadogo (communication specialist from Burkina Faso (West Africa), Valeriia Rachynska, Denis Godlevskiy and Lyubov Vorontsova.

The primary role of the Communities Delegation is to work closely with the Global Fund Board and Committees on policy and advocacy matters. The delegation aims to be accountable to the communities it represents and is coordinated by a leadership team that includes a Board member and an alternate, who officially represent the delegation on the Global Fund Board.

Denis Godlevskiy shared: “I am very grateful and take great responsibility in being nominated and selected for the Communities Delegation. I am deeply thankful to the regional community networks of people, living with TB, and organizations that supported my candidacy. I will make every effort to keep all key communities in our region informed about the processes taking place in the Global Fund. Additionally, as a member of the Delegation, I will use this opportunity to voice the positions of our region’s communities both within the Delegation and to the members of the Global Fund Board.”

The ITPC Global team extends its heartfelt congratulations to Denis and all the newly elected delegates. We wish them great success and the best of luck in their important work representing communities on the Global Fund Board.
