ITPC Executive Director Solange Baptiste had the opportunity to discuss the devastating impact of the USA’s funding cuts on the entire global public health sector with CIVICUS. They explored possibilities for alternate funding sources and how to achieve sustainable healthcare for communities.
She had this advice for policymakers:
“We must democratise global financing, treating community-led systems as essential public goods. This means embedding them into national health policies, funding them through fair and global co-investment and protecting them from political whims.”
